Will do.
I’m jumping around streaming jazz and blues. Primarily stations out of France. For some reason, there are about 5 or 6 stations there that broadcast a quality signal with just the right vibe.
I had my first system for 20 years before advancing components. After new speakers things started changing rapidly and am researching more changes. This only happened after I really began studying.
Not sure I’m on board with forcing myself to not skip tracks I don’t want to hear. That said, I’ve found a few blues and jazz stations, most of them out of France, that I can listen to for hours. Why the French are broadcasting so much good music I prefer as opposed to Mississippi, or Chicago, I’ve no idea.
The Music Room carries some new gear. When they stopped carrying Rotel some of their integrated amps dropped by 50% to clear stock.
I bought a CD player and only afterward began reading up on streamers. I bought a Bluesound 2 months later and the player has gone unused since.
It’s a process. I’m selling my Sonus Faber Sonetto III and going Magnepan. The SF do some things really well and I never get fatigued listening but I struggle with the exaggerated smoothness. I’m craving a live sound.
Sounds better, but now I’m paranoid.
You’re out of chips.
Once you attain your version of the most realistic sounding speakers you can afford, it comes down to the source. Excellent recordings are bliss, shit sounds like shit.
I guess people just do the best they can. How does this look?
Perhaps but they sure do sound lovely.
Aside from the occasional buyer who has come to audition a piece of gear I’m selling, I have never had anyone to share the love of music with.
When family come, music is always on but for them I think it’s more background ambience as opposed to let’s just absorb the intricacies of the presentation.
Prior to their arrival I sometimes try to create the most compelling sonic playlist in hopes of at least one if them getting bit by the “oh shit” what is this but alas…
Yea, this is what I’d be shooting for.
Did you tell mom to pound sand and when she finds a pair of Wilson Audio Sabrina’s then look you up?
What you failed to mention in your rant was that turntable (designed by a NASA scientist genius who does space stuff you could never even comprehend) has a sound-damping plate suspended on a unique axis that eliminates micro-oscillations while the microprocessor controls the elimination of noise, ensuring a pristine sound without hissing.
Hi-Fi shops employ humans. Humans have opinions. Humans possess bias. Humans are flawed.
