Hi! I asked this question in r/budgetaudiophile. Now let’s see what you guys think.

Obviously, we all have our own sound preferences. BUT! Let’s have a talk. What do you think are the most underrated and underappreciated speakers you liked that seem to not get much love?

On the other hand, what speakers you don’t get the appeal of, but they are very appreciated by the community? Could be a specific model or a brand in general.

I have not heard any Wilson loudspeaker which I thought was worth their price. They are very good indeed, but hugely overpriced.

Wilson’s sound really life like but they cost more be ause of the rule of diminishing returns. Not easy to get speakers to sound thus revealing and life like. You also better have perfect source and great quality recordings for these speakers to sound phenomenal.

And some seriously powerful amps to drive them. Wilson’s crossovers are insanely elaborate and complex which puts a tremendous strain on all but the best power amps. Their impedance can drop near 2 ohms in parts of the frequency spectrum. It’s the reason why Wilson’s speakers are so inefficient.
