Are you actually serious
If you carry this out then expect escalation. Such things rarely end well.

I had a massive trio amp. Yes it was very good.
Any purchase of kit from this era must involve through testing of the internals.
Unless its very cheap. And it’s it’s very cheap there’s a good reason for that.
Stick with 1st pressings.
For best sound generally avoid remasters and remixes.
I’ve got the lumin u2 mini and it’s brilliant. I use to with roon and chord qutest DAC.
The DAC is absolutely imperative. Obviously. The lumin is useless without a DAC.
I upgraded from auralic aries mini and it’s a massive upgrade.
Chord make just about the best dacs on the market.
Analogue cables do make a difference.
You can’t.
I’m already looking at new kit just after buying a new streamer.
I’ve had the bug over 40 years.
The key is not to get yourself into debt. Save up and only buy what you can afford.
In the pc gaming world you’ll find plenty of people who sincerely believe that they have superhuman powers.
They believe they can see very high framerates. They believe that that very low latencys are discernable.
They believe that they can see ray tracings when running around and driving at high speed
Etc etc.
Try pointing out the limits of human perception and they think you’re insane.
No matter how much humans want to believe they have super human power. They don’t have them.
Many things are completely beyond the human limits of perception.
They always have been and they always will be.
The one thing that humans have in abundance though is the ability to delude themselves.
Different network bridges sound different.
They aren’t just the sum total of their DAC.
I’ve just upgraded and there’s a definite improvement.
Of course the DAC is crucial. But the bridge also makes a difference.
Analogue sounds better than digital.
It’s that simple
Cyrus also does proper power supplies. They are heavyweight units. I have them in my bi amped system. The Psxr2 is very different to a 12v transformer.
Digital cables are all the same ultimately.
Analogue cables are not the same. You get what you pay for. Speaker cables are also not all born equal.
Mains cables, mains purifiers etc are a waste of time. That’s an expensive and slippery slope to get into to.
Who wouid you want a sub woofer?
There’s absolutely no need for one in a quality hifi set up.
Spend that money on your system not a needless woofer. You’ll get plenty of bass from your speakers.
Above all. You wiki get balance and better sound.
Best streams by quite a distance are analogue vinyl rips.
They are way better than any streaming service.
Use roon as an endpoint for even higher quality.
The source determines the quality of course
Natural.
Your got analogue warmth and digital sterility.
Never the twain.
Absolutely.
Chord also state that swapping supply will degrade the sound. That is straight from the designer. One of the best hi fi innovators and designers in the world today
I wouldn’t get into this new tranformer stuff.
It’s a rabbit hole.
First you start with the transformer. Then it leads to rubbish like mains supplies, suppressors etc etc.
Just look at all the garbage that russ Andrews sells. It’s a catalogue of stuff that does nothing.
Once you fall for these grifts then you will find yourself hooked and much poorer. And all for nothing.
Yes I’ve tried russ Andrews. I had to do so I can judge.
I also knew him decades ago. A very shrewd businessman who knew how to sell.
I’ve been upgrading for over 40 years.
Remorse no.
Pleasure. Yes
DAC can’t be turned off only unplugged.
When I’m away it’s unplugged otherwise it’s on.
I bi-amp and each side has a separate power supply.
That’s four hefty boxes. The cost of leaving on is too high and it’s not necessary. They are on standby. They never get powered down unless I’m working on the hifi
