Hi, one more phono stage post sorry! Can someone please explain the sonic benefits to adding an outboard “linear power supply” box for a phono stage, instead of just using the regular old AC/DC converter that the phono stage comes with? I’m referring to something like this, which would be a standalone unit just for powering the phono stage instead of using the internal, ‘one box’ stock option

How would the sound quality improve? Is it a super noticeable difference?
Thanks!!
Do you think the manufacture wouldn’t include one if it was needed?
Absolutely.
Chord also state that swapping supply will degrade the sound. That is straight from the designer. One of the best hi fi innovators and designers in the world today
So does NAIM - wonder why they offe so many power supply units.
Cyrus also does proper power supplies. They are heavyweight units. I have them in my bi amped system. The Psxr2 is very different to a 12v transformer.
Not if they’re trying to hit a low price point
I have doubts
A lot of higher end products do include a LPS.
