It’s not going to be the bitdepth. It’s probably just the DAC or amps sound. Ayima is a cheaper product so I expect it to sound cheap.

Is there a DAC that makes the Samson SR850 sound good because I think it’s just because it’s a bad headphone. Please look at the measurements.

Khz is not bitrate. The amount of bits doesn’t matter. You won’t hear any difference over lossless cd quality (16bit/44.1khz). Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t collect or stream higher sample rates but you won’t hear a difference because of the khz or bitdepth.

No. You can illegally download them from Amazon tho. But you rebuy them on qobuz for the best quality

I have a few ways and one is already looking good. Not that I have looked at the audio yet but it could be something.

It’s really sad to see this. With the amazing measurements and the amazing price I just wish it could have better qc. If you can’t get a replacement I recommend smsl or the topping a50s as they seem to have less issues. I’m getting the a50s tomorrow so I can tell you my experience.

They have been for a while

i like getting interesting dacs/amps and streamers bc i think they are cool. i don’t think there is any difference in quality. if you are more intested in gear rather than sound quality get about 1k worth of source stuff with transparent measurements, good subjective reviews, bit perfect output, good streaming service with lossless/ download site, dsp/eq. easy to use with good ui and ux. thats all if you include software. things like dsp can make a bad speaker way better and might save you money on your speakers.
