The keyswitches are hot swappable, so the only thing that you’d need to worry about if it broke is the PCB or the jacks for connectivity. In the 15 years that I have been working IT, I have only ever seen keyswitches fail on a keyboard.

I came here to hate on it but I can’t. One less device on the desk. Not a bad idea.

Agreed. Fiio makes nice stuff generally speaking too. I’m thinking of getting the FIIO R7 myself.

I find the choice of mechanical keyboard and DAC/Amp rather weird. So you can enjoy some tunes between the clickety clackety of your typing.

When I still worked in an office, I had a Schiit Modi & Magni to run my headphones. As ports on a Macbook are already limited, and needing one of those ports for a das keyboard, consolidating a keyboard & DAC into one would’ve been really freaking cool.

Probably not that “far off”. Put on the successor to the Quest pro and have a virtual doulby atmoúse with a 360° field if you want it to. What is that 32.4.32?

I’m down. But, it sucks that if one part fails you lose two functions at once.

Not the type of keyboard I was expecting.

It’s like somebody in China rolls dice and combines whatever functions come up.

This would be handy for in the office. Not just for having fewer devices on my desk but mainly to reduce the number of nosy coworkers who have to ask “what’s that thing in your desk?” while pointing to my dac/amp. You know the types. People who aren’t asking because they’re actually interested in audio but because they just want to rib on you for having the audacity to enjoy harmless hobbies at work. There’s a reason I already use a combo dac/amp at work and not separates. Being flashy doesn’t always attract the right kind of attention. It’d be nice to have something even more stealthy.

But I wouldn’t use this keyboard/dac/amp combo thing at home. Separates all the way.

If the idea is to keep nosy co-workers from asking what the wonky things on your desk are, then this particular item probably ain’t for you either. Haha

Off topic but what’s with the trend of annoyingly tiny keyboards these days? I want my keyboard to be the size of a Chevy Suburban’s dashboard, not emulating my phone.

Ergonomically you want a TKL, then mouse, then numpad, or numpad, then TKL, then mouse.

A full size keyboard pushes your mouse out so far you can never have your most common keys and input device both in a good ergonomic range.

I can’t hate anything Fiio does. Also as the top comment here mentions, it is a great idea to eliminate one device from your ‘desk’ top.

We already see many keyboards that also have a computer stuffed inside them, YMMV about the computing power being suited for your needs, but there are definitely other components that could be tucked away inside a proper mechanical keyboard that would clear up even more space on the desk.

As both a keyboard and audio enthusiast for the last 30+ years, I saw this news and immediately wanted to hate it, clicked the link, and then felt seen, and heard. 75% is my format of choice; currently running the Bubble75.

There are at least 3 DACs within inches of my custom keyboard; if I can swap in my own lubed Invyr Pandas, and if it can drive my planars, I’m 100% in. The fact that they included a balanced connection. Chef’s kiss.

I have a couple issues with this keyboard to be honest. One plate-mount stabs just why? Two, it has the output of a dongle which does not take up much space in of itself, it would have been nice to see a bit more power on tap for the extra space it has to work with. Three, why north facing rgb? Seriously it just limits options for aftermarket keycaps which leads to my final grievance. What the hell are those keycaps
