The main benefit comes with the fact that with a Chromecast audio, a wiim or a raspberry pi your mobile device act as controller, not a player. This saves bt compression and battery life on your phone/tablet.

Amp doesn’t have standby so I keep it off and hooked to a WiFi power surge programmed to shut off at 2 AM and on at 9 just to be sure if I forget. Previously CA and DAC were always on standby but recently I got a Wiim pro plus which goes in standby after two minutes.

What kind of speakers? I would go yellow for convenience and red if you use to keep the music on while eating or doing other things around, but still curious about your gear

I’m pulling the trigger on it to replace my chromecast audio with a basic smsl dac, I think it’s time to go past Spotify premium and I am trying Qobuz but having issues with 96khz hi res which seems to be the limit of CA. I wonder if it works properly with the Qobuz app and if I can keep it connected at the same time to output via toslink to the dac and rca to my amp.

Qs are definitely an upgrade in terms of balance through the range and consequently lack of ear fatigue.
