Qs are definitely an upgrade in terms of balance through the range and consequently lack of ear fatigue.

I get what you mean. I’ve had Linn Kans and Klipsch towers previously. I did enjoy the Kef’s but the Neat Iota Alpha’s I also have really were much fuller. I got the Q’s by chance at a really good price and am happy I did. What do you have?

Got the Q Acoustic Concept 50’s second hand for 50% off RRP. The previous owner replaced them with wireless Kef LS 50’s as he felt the Q’s were too much for his room. I’m obviously very happy, but would you have done the same?

My next issue is whether my Minx Min 12’s are too weedy to be used as surrounds with the Q’s? They sound good so far, but I haven’t strayed down that rabbit hole as yet.

The Q’s should definitely have better distortion and low end, but the KEFs are amazing for their size IMO. Perfect dispersion and easy to get right in a room. Just needs a sub, but the Q’s probably don’t.

The Kef’s were more neutral and the Wharfedale sub I have may not have been the ideal match. The Q’s were a steal at 50% off the RRP so had to get them really. I do like the sound and have a power amp coming. Let’s see what they can do.

I like my Monitor Audio Bronze floor standers better than my kef Q150s. The kick drums, toms, and bass instruments are much better on the Monitor Audio speakers.

Those Q’s were a huge surprise for me at Axpona this year. Definitely an upgrade over the Kefs. Don’t worry, you done good!

With a sub, the Kef is the upgrade… Without the sub… Kef still prob better unless you need the spl and loud bass under 70hz

    Imo

LS50 aren‘t per se better than the Concepts. They have a different sound profile. But soundquality wise they are very even matched.
