  • an old hi-fi store closed having a 80´s timer from pioneer, it was handy when in early 80´s radio shows at night were still made by persons who worked in the best shows of the 70´s,and to record from 1 to 3 a.m. a double deck with the two decks recording and the timer was usefull but today i even took the tuner from my system no radio shows that are good enough to listen. Happy hunting for a timer

  • but the 8800 as much better sound than the sx-D7000,it´s a already poor receiver from the early 80´s ,so low power but do you listen to music with the volume always at full capacity ?so the sa-8800 is one of the best made by pioneer and you say you have the spec-1 and spec-2 also the sx-1250,don´t you notice any diference to the SX-D7000?i´m from a Pioneer family so i have most of the components released in the 70´s including yours and not the SX-1250 but the SX-1050 and the 78 sx-1980,also the exclusive more powerfull system from the 70´s with the twin2401exclusive speakers with the reel deck and the P3turntable ,also the 76 top of the line component system with the PLC-590 series 20 turntable and the 79 top of the line component system and bought in early 90´s a complete URUSHI system with four 8ohms prologue towers, not the Eclipse cheap components sold in the America´s with multi-players and yellow displays, and that´s only part of my pioneer components. I have a lot more and also from better brands, and i can assure you that the SA-8800 it´s far better than the SX-D7000 in sound quality and they can handle more powerfull speakers made recentelly or in the 90´s. sx-D7000?this coming from a person that as three of the best components pioneer made, you

  • my father was a very rich man till some days ago when he passed away with 92 years old for a colonoscopie badly done who killed him but when young i had not shoes that didn´t felt my fingers toutchin`the street or dirt way or any pice of cloth that i wouldn´t feel bad in school with 14 yerars old ,i never had a hot wheels race track or a scalectrix, but now i have a hi-fi component colection with all expensive brands i could know, and a 15.000 record colection ,mainly jazz,afro-beat and rock or hard rock records, i own 12 high-end turntables from early 60´s till late 90´s and 48 cassette decks ,imagine a good one ,i own it ,before i had a portable stereo philips radio cassette player from 1980, i didn´t had time to see everything he had packed with several sheets of plastic inside car-boxes, regards

  • no problem at all but if you want to know both brands you refer have in some years very good turntables but technics mostly in the 70´s were the best in turntables ,the one you bought in late 80´s at least i can tell you that this new projects and regas are all worst, this till around 1.000€ , if the technics you have is giving problems it´s only better to buy a second hand one from technics. Yamaha, they have good ones but they are rare and they might ask a lot of money ,Dual as good turntables the early 80´s ones were considered by many the best that was because all had ortofon cartridges ,even branded Dual but looking like the OM series which the old ones were very good today are just the cheapest they have, but not like those early 80´s ,thorens are very good but sometimes they ask a lot of money and some parts are missing and always expensive from this new wave the Fluance might be less expensive but for sure are better and you can always buy a better cartridge for it, with the money you buy a very bad pro-ject , technics even today they have a lot of good amplifiers and speakers ,in the 70´s they had everything good as any other brand some are even technics followers ,the dual they released in late 80´s or 90´s were very good but today they seem not good with the passage of time, NAD or new acoustic dimension i have a very good integrated amplifier from the 70´s also have a 1224 turntable from Dual as it´s amplifier , tuner and speakers(4ohms)it belonged to my grandmother it´s in mint condition and came with a shure cartridge, there are always good turntables in second hand, just have to look at their specifications and it helps if you ´re registred in hifiengine or vinylengine for free, they have catalogs from every brand very complete colections for one to compare now the old 2nd hand turntables with reviews and vinyl engine they talk about the turntables they use so it´s a detailed information about the most bought turntables and what are their weeknesses and which cartridges are the better ,a cheap one is the MP-110 , happy turntable improvement

  • everything you buy to complete the system is good for those days and today i would buy their best equalizer with more frequencies to change the cassette deck would be one of the 3 more higher reference from the same catalog and turntables there are so may that i don´t know which is best ,for your pocket even speakers they have really good ones, even to todays standarts
