I’m using DT-770 80 ohm with a lightning adapter, seemingly at a pretty quiet level, but it’s saying 85-90dB. When I use my APPs, I usually stick around 65-70dB at a similar loudness level (at least to my ears). Does headphone safety incorrectly calculate the volume level with higher resistance headphones like mine?

It’s exists only so apple doesn’t get sued.

It’s erring on side of safety.

It’s only for Apple earpods and airpods, for most it’s completely inaccurate.

I didn’t know it worked with wired headphones. My guess would be that you are correct and it doesn’t calculate for impedance.
