This is ridiculous money for headphone that sounds as good as he400
This is ridiculous money for headphone that sounds as good as he400
he400i gets you super close and could be had for 90 bucks.
Same here but I can’t justify another mediocre headphone that adds no value to my collection since 6xx already was a dissapointment.
It’s exists only so apple doesn’t get sued.
It’s erring on side of safety.
I use my oneplus 6t with a dongle as my DAP since my fiio x1 finally broke.
I would absolutely not use a phone as a music player cause
Just get a dap for 300 that will last you a decade.
You’re gonna shell out 1.8 grand for a minor upgrade with the 800s soon since youre now on the sennhesier cult.
There’s so many genres where 90% of the interesting and fun stuff in the music is in the sub bass.
They do.
Audio is an solved technology meaning even cheap headphones are hifi quality capable of reproducing recordings accurately. Otherwise people wouldn’t be happy with cheap headphones and tws they have, that compose 99% of the entire headphone market.
The differences between cans are relatively minor and you get used to them over time, making it even less of an issue.
Audiophilia is pretending the differences are huge and A is unlisetanble while B is greatest while in reality both perform close to eachohter.
This is just a placebo in action. Even if you know you’re being placebod, it doesn’t stop working.
You either can’t tell the differences or you’re a mutant freak whose hearing needs to be researched.
SS are mostly all the same. Ability to deliver power can make some cans sound better or worse. But that doesn’t mean theres a reason they should cost north of 500 at most.
fidelio x2
Of course people will hype the hd6-- since they haven’t heard other phones around the same and cheaper bracket and realized they’re just pretty good but okay value.
Because if you pay a few grand for the same cable everyone else has and don’t blind test with a large audience, you are going to imagine very minor improvements to satisfy your mental health.
“I like headphones.”
You’re missing out honestly. Unless you abuse your headphones they last fine.
I have a broken set of mdr v6’s, broken set of x2’s and he400i that is in mint condition all these years later.
hd600 costs probs 10 bucks to make now and it’s 400+ headphones 25 years later.
I got some 6xx’s I only picked up since finally a 600 series phone that is priced where it should be: around 190.
They’re fine but they’re nothing special. You can outperform them with he400i that could be had for 90 bucks brand new from hifiman and they’re far more comfortable to boot.
It’s simple.
Audio is a solved thing meaning they’re all high fidelity, high quality headphones that are by and large the same.
People are arguing over minute differences that are all based on personal preferences.
Yeah they are not as good as the hype since other companies have caught up and put out comparable headphones for cheaper.
Most people demanding hd6xx are some special status ultra special snowflake mega headphones that are completely unique and worth their RIDICULOUS asking price are just stuck in sunk cost fallacy.
