DACs stay on permanently, because why bother. Anything with tubes gets turned off, headphone amps get turned off, my speaker amp stays on permanently so my wife doesn’t have to bother turning it on for tv, I only turn it off when we’re out of town.

Yoo! I scored HD650s for $75 a few months back. I like them way more than the 6XX I never gelled with, go figure. I also prefer the marble 600 to the new one.

Sold my Lyr 3, Aeon Noires, ZMF Classic, K702, T1.2 and got HD600 & HD650 with a Vali 2 & Darkvoice and a Penon Serial, Airpod Pros 2 (which I just lost in my house, and I lost my APP1s at work, I hate wireless buds).

I’d put more weight on changing the synergy of my system with a DAC than an amp once the amp meets whatever criteria. It personally bothers me more when I listen to a source that doesn’t sound how I expect.
