Yeah, I ending up sending the closed x back because of how lifeless and undetailed they sounded.

I have these. They actually sound quite good for the price that they launched at. The tuning isn’t like other skullcandy headphones.

How do these compare to the 6xx in terms of detail retrieval?

No, but I also don’t think a more expensive DAC necessarily sounds better. I’d rather buy a fairly cheap, transparent DAC and EQ to my tastes.

600 is better, but it’s maybe 50-100$ better. If the price difference is more than that, go with the 6xx.
