Reviewers are scared to post bad reviews, because they might not get the next product from that company. Doesn’t mean that they’ll post a fake good review, more often they just bury it and don’t post anything. I know of a few audio journalists who have admitted to doing just that. If a product isn’t any good, they just don’t post a review. It’s why there’s so few bad reviews out there.
It was fascinating that the only negative reviews were from purchaser reviews on Amazon. Intuition told me something was rotten in Denmark.
The youtubers think of themselves as of reviewers while the brands think of them as influencers.
How come nobody ever talks about how bad the Drop DCA AEONS are? I have a feeling big reviewers are all bought out.
Yeah, I ending up sending the closed x back because of how lifeless and undetailed they sounded.
Most audiophile “reviews” were/are paid in one form or the other in the magazine days, ie. Buy Ads or good luck getting exposure. But man, I’ve just watched that guy’s YT video on the Z8 DAC.
lol I knew that guy was always full of it
God damn it I was planning on getting a DMP-A6 soon, and now I don’t know if the reviews I watched/read were trustworthy.
For what it’s worth, I like mine. Functions nicely, looks great on the shelf. Lots of update rollouts. And yes, it sounds great.
One assumes all YouTube reviews are paid, no?
