I did some tube rolling for the 12AX7s in my preamp, and pretty quickly settled on NOS Voshkod 6N2P tubes matched by a reseller. They give me that full, warm, “blooming” sound I was looking for without sacrificing much treble detail.

I’m a fan of the Kenwood KA series paired with 70s speakers like the Realistic Nova 8b.

I’ve never been disappointed by NAD gear, either.

Almost every vintage speaker I’ve restored has a “plant ring” on the top, from water damage. Sometimes the damage goes all the way through the veneer. Do with that information what you will.

I have the Energy Take series in my 5.1 setup. With the right sub pairing they disappear into the movie, and they’re unobtrusive.
