Burn in is a thing but is used to test for failure, not to mature components for optimal sound. Ignore the rampant audiophoolery in reviews.

Interesting that most of the responses are brand based. Probably telling in that many are emotionally attached to stories brands are telling them and not necessarily just “their ears”.

It’s the anti-science. Buy as much bullshit as you want, but don’t model an entire belief system from it. My favorite is when they don’t ‘listen to measurements’ but then point at a bit rate and exclaim ‘night and day’ improvements.
