1 year agoI think this is really the best approach to hobby sales. Introduce your customer to what is aspirational sound like a 1 mil sound system then explain to them how something in their price range is similar but what that extra say $990,000 gets them.
What we chase as an audiophile isn’t totally in the equipment but really in the room curve, coherence and response. At a certain point, the limits on your system are going to require a solution that goes beyond changing gear. If you invest in a flexible solution that allows you to tune your room and your system to tasted, adjust timing, crossover points, phasing, room nodes, you will get closer to what you desire because you will have a better understanding of what you desire. In short, if you really love sound, move beyond someone else’s decisions and start building your own speakers, processors, amps. They don’t have to be high end, just the process of going deeper will be more satisfying and will open up a new realm of appreciation for what you love.
