At a certain point, the limits on your system are going to require a solution that goes beyond changing gear. If you invest in a flexible solution that allows you to tune your room and your system to tasted, adjust timing, crossover points, phasing, room nodes, you will get closer to what you desire because you will have a better understanding of what you desire. In short, if you really love sound, move beyond someone else’s decisions and start building your own speakers, processors, amps. They don’t have to be high end, just the process of going deeper will be more satisfying and will open up a new realm of appreciation for what you love.
