Nothing gets me more emotional than lamenting the expensive cables I bought that do absolutely nothing.

Sounds like a good start! I have no idea what it might sound like, but I will say the standard: move those speakers onto stands and further apart!

Also, no shade intended, but you might get more tips and positive feedback from the “audiophiles on a budget” sub. They’re great over there.

You’re focusing on the lava lamp and cramped room crowd, but I’m more offended by the guy who has a 50k set up in a large room that looks like what a bad contractor thinks is fancy. Gray floors, tacky abstract art, contemporary long slim gas-operated fireplace, rug that looks like it belongs in an office, etc
