spent hundreds on my setup just to end up mainly listening to lo-fi bedroom rock. Listening to Monomania by Car Seat Headrest right now :)

I buy physical media, been buying mainly cassettes as of late since they’re rad as hell and pretty much is the only option for physicals for a lot of indie albums. It’s probably my faviorite physical format.

I still buy CDs to have as my digital master copy and I’m definitely listening to them more after upgrading my CD players dac to a Modi 3e since it sounds similar to my tape deck but a bit cleaner and wider.

Vinyl is fun and I like it, but not enough bands I like have releases on the format, but I do like listening to the 15 or so records I have

It honestly just connects you more to music and makes albums less of an abstract thing. I find it harder to get attached and truly fall in love with an album if it dosent have a physical release. Something about streaming just feels temporary and fake. I like knowing that I’ll always have this album, and even if I stop listening to the band, it’s still a physical remininder of the person I was at that time. Physical media can kinda tell a story lol

While it’s totally just placebo I defiently like albums more if I can listen to it physically. Not sure why, I just don’t get attached in the same way if I can’t and the songs never fully click or ingrained themselves with me. Sometimes they do, but just not as often.
