So I purchased a Bluesound Node X with the hope that it would improve my streaming experience and overall listening experience. It really hasn’t.

I use Amazon Music and other than some minor conveniences (like not interrupting music when a call comes in) I’m not sure it was worth the $750. The sound from the Laptop via USB sound fuller and just as detailed as the Node and it seems like its just another piece of equipment I don’t really need. Am I missing something?

I literally just use my tv as my streamer running optical into my receiver and using the receiver’s built in DAC and it works great. I can cast to the tv from my computer or phone so I can control it wirelessly which works great! Like others said a dedicated streamer really is only for those that don’t have another solution and don’t want a computer or screen connected to their setup and would rather have something more discreet.

If you’re fine plugging in your laptop when you want to stream then there’s really no need for the bluesound and you might as well put that money into improving something else with your setup if there is anything you feel needs the upgrade.

That’s what I do. It’s easy since my speakers are set up around my TV to begin with.
