I assume a cheap microphone will not suffice, so do I need to shell out the extra money to get a high quality professional microphone? Or will a budget microphone be good enough to do the job?
I use the dbx RTA-M since I use a DriveRack PA2.
Curious to know if the cheaper mics would do the trick… Afterall, the Yamaha amps come with a very simple mic for room correction.
UMIK-1 from MiniDSP. It’s USB so you don’t need an interface and includes a correction filter.

to do basic eq you do not need one, but for learning about audio and dsp it is great.
and auto eq needs one, i use calibrated umik 1.UMK-1 from Mini DSP.
