You know, the small things that can save you a lot of money. I’ll start:

You can get “hospital” powercables that are completely shielded for 20 bucks or so.

You can get anti vibration pucks for washing machines instead of spending 10 times that on the same product which is just labeled as “speaker pucks” instead.

Put money into a savings account in the moment you get your paycheck. 200, 500, 2K doesn’t matter. You buy less crap that way too. Win-win.

Squirrel away chunks of cash in a different bank account over time. If you catch upgrade fever, add a larger chunk and move on.

    Also, positioning.

Run slightly suboptimal, good enough, positioning and you get new gear. When you want new gear, optimize positioning. Woo-hoo, free upgrade.

Learning how to do diagnosis and repairs for common issues in amplifiers. Takes buying a few tools, multi meter, soldering iron, but you can save some serious cash on pieces labeled “as is” or “for parts” on FB marketplace, Craigslist, etc.

Don’t waste your money on voodoo tweaks (cable trestles, audiophile fuses, quantum/crystal/cryo/graphine/bullshite).

If you are handy, you can build very nice speaker cables, interconnects and line cords with readily available premium wire and terminations for a fraction of what a preassembled “exotic” cable goes for.

Likewise, making your own sound absorbers for room treatment is another way to save money. There are DIY videos on youtube for all of this.

Enjoying what you have is the best way to save money. I’d way rather stay home, relax, and listen to a record than stress out in a hifi store.

Buying refurbished or ex-display and getting the same 2 year warranty everyone else gets.

Using a raspberry pi 4 as an asynchronous usb streamer, saving hundreds on market sold streamers.

Chicken in lemon juice and spices, oven for 45 minutes, over rice. A week and a half of lunch.
