I don’t have much experience in high-end luxury cars but I have owned a spectrum of brands from European, domestic and Japanese manufacturers.

Honestly I have never been impressed by a factory system. The H/K in our older Mercedes was a joke. We all know Bose is a gimmick. I’ve heard the Fender systems are pretty good but I’ve never had the chance to demo them.

The best I think I’ve heard is the Logic 7 in BMW.

What are some of your favorites?

The best system that I ever benchmarked was the one in the Rolls Royce Cullinan, but that was several years ago. Since then I’ve really wanted to hear the Dolby Atmos system in the Lucid Air.

Rolls have long been good, I know the man who designed all of their sound systems for a couple of decades. He was running fibre optic to amps in the boot in the 1980’s. The design he’s most proud of is the Vauxhall cavalier. It was designed so a sub could easily be added to a great sounding stock system.
