Just got a new (well, actually a refurb unit from Accessories4less) Denon PMA-17000ne and almost immediately notice clipping in left channel even at relatively low volumes ( not present when it is really low). Did basic troubleshooting - changed cables, etc.
Previously used an older surround Sony ES receiver repurposed as my “music amp” without problems but wanted to have something with a dedicated phono input.
Just wondering - is it an issue of this being a defective unit or is this Denon just not capable of handling Forte IIIs?
I like it otherwise so if it is defective I’ll try my luck with another unit, but obviously if it is not powerful enough then I should not waste my time.

    Thanks to all who replied.

The problem is when streaming from a streamer box which has coax, optical out and line out through onboard dac, problem present with all 3 outputs and persists in left output channel even when switching channels, no such problem with old amp

Bizarre thing- it is prominent mostly when listening to low frequency deep vocals.

Have you switched the input channels from the streamer? If the problem moves to the other channel, it is a streamer problem. Otherwise, it has to be the amp.
