For the time being I am going to get a set of new tweeters from mid west speaker repair. I will get them to repair the original driver later if possible.
They have an 8ohm version and a 4 ohm version. I know its a 4Ω impedance speaker but… just want to make sure I should get the 4 ohm versions.
My guess is that some other AR speakers were 8 ohm impedance but had the same size tweeter driver.
The tweeter in the AR-11 is the 4 ohm version.
It’s important to know that while the Midwest tweeter fits the hole, it is not an exact replacement - if you’re interested in bringing the speaker back to original spec, you’d need a vintage AR tweeter p/n 200011-1.
