Just curious about your favorite things to play on your system. I have a decent record collection but if im home doing things i have a few extended playlists on apple music and enjoy their lossless through a simple usb DAC to a 90s Yamaha receiver with a variety of goodwill speakers and old sub but everything tuned together to work really nicely.
Personally my favorite vinyl to listen to is a 12 extended single of lovecats by the cure. John Coltrane and Antonio Carlos Jobim get alot of spin time too. Lots of samba, jazz, and random low fi house on record.
My digital libraries have lots of jazz inspired hip hop mostly 90s, house, math rock, and funk. Some artists ive been listening too more recently are FKJ, Yussef Dayes, Tom Misch, and hiatus kaiyote
What do you listen to?
Bit of everything yesterday was Steely Dan - Aja, and tried some live albums recommended on /Music thread but couldn’t stand the terrible quality for most live mixes. today started off with Green Day - 1039 / Smooth out Slappy Hours and thinking of Deorro - Orro for this afternoon
Here’s a live album recommended, I wish I could remember which thread, that’s an awesome mix: “Jeff Beck Performing This Week… Live At Ronnie Scott’s”.
I love live music. In the last few days I’ve listened to Peter Gabriel and Jethro Tull live. Try Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young 4 way street, Neil Young Massey Hall, Chris Botti in Boston (cd), Paul McCarthy back in the USA (cd), Alchemy Dire Straits, Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert (cd), David Gilmore live in Gdańsk (cd) and practically anything Pink Floyd. The ones mentioned as being CD’s might be available as records.
Live music is where it’s at! I’ve also been on a Paul Simon kick lately. Really enjoying Graceland right now. The openness of its sound is so rare these days.
Check him out live in Central Park by himself and an older recoding with Garfunkel. BTW I saw him live once - think it was the Graceland tour.
