The dynamic range is a bit too high for my liking and all the equalizers I find do not have such a feature, ideally I would like a slider so I can choose how tight I want the range to be.

Check out Musicolet. You can have upto a 31 band eq, quite customizable by dialing in your own frequencies if you need to.
