The dynamic range is a bit too high for my liking and all the equalizers I find do not have such a feature, ideally I would like a slider so I can choose how tight I want the range to be.

Do you want to Limit max volume, or Compress the dynamic range to make both the loud parts quieter and the quiet parts louder?
Wavelet has a limiter. It might have what you need. If it doesn’t show anything in default mode, use legacy mode.

How do I acquire such a thing?
There are a few music player applications that offer Compressors and Limiters in their DSP engines. Ex. Poweramp, and Symfonium.
As for pure EQ applications that offer the same, we’ve got Poweramp EQ, and Wavelet.
Check out Musicolet. You can have upto a 31 band eq, quite customizable by dialing in your own frequencies if you need to.
