I have a 2ch amp that I will be adding a subwoofer using speaker level inputs to the sub, and my speakers are rated -3db at 52hz. I will be using it for both music and movies. I do enjoy the feeling of LFE and it seems generally the ported subs will go sub-20hz

Are there any benefits of going sealed?

I’ve used both and would recommend dual sealed subs over one or more ported. However, my preference is music (predominantly electronic, not that it matters) and movies is a secondary function for me. If I wanted pure un-controlled boom for movies then my preference would probably be ported.

Also, for movies, ‘port huffing’ doesn’t really matter. But, for music, on those long sub bass notes, the huffing can quickly become annoying.

Currently using a pair of SVS SB-1000s.
