I really love listening to Linkin Park and bands that use a really thick, heavy, (in my opinion) distorted to perfection tone in their guitars, yet they completely turn it down in the mix. (ex: Blurry - Puddle of Mudd) I wasn’t sure if I should post this here or in a different subreddit but I saw a similar EQ question asked in this subreddit.
They produced it that way for a reason. I don’t think it’s an EQ thing more you want to bring the guitar more “forward” in the master so you hear the guitar better?
