In all seriousness, though, I am searching for an upgrade from my DT 990s (290 grams) and have heard fantastic things about the LCD-2 classic line. However, I have also heard horror stories and discourse amongst the forums from people who are not big fans of the weight.
What are some of your experiences with Audeze headphones, specifically regarding the weight? Does the adjustability and comfort make it less significant an issue than some people describe?
I also encourage those with 500+ gram headphones to say their thoughts.
For me, none. I have a pretty big head and my LCD-3s fit snugly with little to no clamping force.
Always attempt to try on a new pair of headphones if possible, though; for example, despite much praise regarding their comfort I personally have found the 6x0 line to be the most clampy headphones I have ever tried, enough so to give me a headache for the rest of the day after a 5-minute session.
