My Master & Dynamic MH40 Wireless Gen2 headphones have developed a fault that casues a notification sound to play every few seconds, interrupting playback. I contacted their support who were initially helpful until I sent them my original proof of purchase showing them being out of their (short) warranty. They told me it’s likely a driver or battery issue and they do not make any spare parts available. These shouldn’t be thrown away after 2.5 years.

In retrospect I suppose the clues were there for this company - charging $29 for 3.5mm audio cable.

Obviously I will never buy one of their products again no matter how good they sound. I wonder if people know of manufacturers who do provide spare parts and are on the right side in terms of right to repair?

FiR audio are. They specifically made their IEMs with repairability in mind. Easily replaceable mesh filters, and easily replaceable IEM-side 2 pin connector in case it ever fails.

I have the same problem with them. I own an MH40 non wireless (gen 1 I think). Both the earpads are broken. The glue seems to be coming off after a long usage, so I want to purchase a new one. I see that they have the pads for newer mh40 bluetooth and want to purchase them, but ask support for confirmation.

Turns out “the newer pad is not compatible due to different magnetic structure”. Really?

I ask for the older part or if they have 3rd party replacement recommendation for it. No answer.

Last time I’m buying their headphone.

On other note, anybody have recommendations for smaller, foldable headphone that sounds great? The only candidate I can found is Dan Clark Aeon closed

By any chance do you have a samsung phone? I had the same issue with any bt device, i had to mute notification settings and it went away. Later i discovered it was an app causing the issues with Nice Catch. Or it might be that your headphone just faulty.
