watch “live at pompeii”.
Think it said something about them not being in the same room as them…
This was specifically mentioned in the instructions for my speakers:
Never stand objects on your loudspeakers. In particular do not stand flowers, etc. on them – they are not jardinieres!
(Doesn’t really say why, but I’ll do what I’m told)
seems to be a vehicle for nerding out. sometimes about music, sometimes about kit.
everything is new this week
it’s the economy, stupid
(but seriously – if you are spunking big bucks on something, it is nice to support local jobs)
if you are worried about your ears, use ear plugs until you are comfortable
can’t really remember how bad latency was. i meant i could hear my network traffic.
local icmp ping flood rendered it unusable. normal traffic was just annoying.
i have some sympathy: i stopped using (fairly pricey) powerline network adapters because they wreaked havoc with my hifi.
so i redid my network to cut them out.
…but yeah this sounds like snakeoil.
update: i got an audiolab dc block, and have finally tested it.
it… helps. a lot. but it does not solve it completely – certainly up close. i’ll give it some use and see how i feel.
