I vibe with most of what you say, but there’s still a lot of vague conditions that leave lots of ambiguity. You still don’t try to put the issue to rest. You say here:
Anyone selling cables for hundreds of dollars making wild claims about clarity and sound stage is selling you snake oil. Period. Looking at you, audioquest and Cardas. The difference in audio fidelity will likely not be audible in most home audio setups.
This seems to do the opposite. It gives fuel to the people buying expensive cables for their system. They have better ears than those who it “will likely not be audible” to, and they have better systems than “most home audio setups”.
It’s pretty much been proven in numerous listening tests that, unless something is seriously undersized or damaged, there will not be any audible difference. Period.
