The problem is it all been made about money.

There is a not so subtle idea that If you didn’t spend at least X amount on your system then it can’t possibly “get you there”.

Also, whatever gear the audiophile press raved about last year being great is no longer good enough this year. Sorry, the new model came out and it’s just such an improvement!

There is this (not so) subtle idea put forth that you should never be satisfied with your system because “look at this new improved gadget!”. Hours long youtube videos of some guy raving ecstatic about how the new model changed his whole perception of music and it’s only $5,000. A bargain!

This of course is not unique to the audiophile hobby. Pretty much every hobby goes like this. If you become satisfied the cash stops flowing.

I would also like to hear opinions about the DAC in the pro plus.

Any opinions about it’s sound signature?
