  • All things being equal 3 drivers will play lower, louder and with less distortion than a 2 way. You just need a bigger amp to get the same loudness or more. It will have a more spread out sound since its coming from 3 different things than like a point-source, but all that stuff is super dependent on design so its really hard to say.

  • You could learn to fuck with a 32band Digital EQ you can tune it for any type of music and pull more details for that type. Obviously this kind of leans into changing what the original sounded like and can make other genres sound bad. But I’ve had some wow moments doing some clever tweaking an EQ for what I’m listening to. Just learning like 2k 4k cut or boost can make a big difference in the perception of effects. Our ears all hear somewhat differently so it does make sense to tweak the EQ for yourself, It just really difficult not to ruin the sound.

And what a pile of sad garbage comments here otherwise

  • Id say frequencies are pretty useless past 16-17khz for music. People say it adds air but if you can’t hear it I don’t understand. We are all tuned for voice anyways so most people could appreciate quality there, while not hearing 12khz+. The only times i’ve been like wow its nice to have 17khz + is when there is a recording of a TV and you hear the high pitch noise from it.
