My introduction to B&O was the Beocord 8000 that someone gifted me from a curb find that only required a cap replacement in the power supply and a dead opamp I had to trace down later upon enjoying it.
I had a few self amplified speaker bases from them too from the same era that I disassembled for parts because they were smoked and was impressed with the quality in design and build.
They really knew how to design raw electronics around cosmetic looks and maintain incredible audio. I have a lot of respect for the brand as an electronics engineer and enthusiast if it weren’t for the annoying to repair circuitry when something fails. I appreciated the lift up lids though on their early gear like the cassette deck I own. Makes maintenance a breeze.
I just remembered I wanted an original Felix the Cat clock to finish up my space.
If only they weren’t so damn expensive or the knockoffs were better made.
