Because you’re treating your purchases as if they’re rentals, which they’re not. The merchant has to take back your used stock, give you all your money back, and the a) sell it as an open-box product, or more likely b) throw them away. You are putting them at a loss because you want to use Amazon like a Blockbuster when that’s not what they’re for. In the end, everyone ends up paying for this because the retailer has to adjust their prices to factor in these losses.

Also, you can and will get banned from Amazon and other retailers if you keep doing this. Abuse of the return system is monitored and they will cut you off as a liability. Then no more IEMs for you. Anything more than a 10% return rate is suspicious and will attract the wrong kind of attention.

I have a non-ANC pair I got free with a MacBook. Honestly, they’re not terrible. They definitely need some EQing to make the bass not a muddy mess, but once you tweak it it’s decent (at the price you paid; certainly not for MSRP). Wireless Koss Porta Pros with Yaxi pads would sound better and be more comfortable, but they’re open back and not noise canceling, so it’s an entirely different use case.

If you don’t like them you can always return them. Most important thing is how you like the headphones, not what internet people think.

  • For IEMs, the best cable I’ve seen so far is on the Dunu Titan S. It is at least on par with some upgrade cables like the Tripowin Sirene/Solstice/Mirage.

The worst cable by far came with the Tripowin Léa. It’s ironic that a company known primarily for their excellent upgrade cables would include such pathetic excuse for a cable with one of their own IEMs, but it really is that bad. It’s honestly worse than if they hadn’t included one at all.
