Thank you for your answer. I can understand, that it can be tempting to listen to something and then change the IEMs/headphones and listen to the same stuff with different signatures, but to be honest, how often would you do that? I totally agree, that every single headphones/IEMs have their strenghts and weaknesses, even to most expensive one, so to have a collection of best trebble, best bass, best soundstage etc. makes some sense. In this case you had a specific album, where you just love the bass for example and then switch to the right IEM. But then again, how often would you do that? But as I stated before - it’s totally fine for me, don’t get me wrong, it’s your money and your hobby, was just curious.

My case is completely different, I’m in that hobby for over 20 years and had probably under 10 IEMs and 3 or 4 headphones in all that time. But almost never more than 2 at the same time, the second one as a spare, I sold or gave the older ones to someone. I’m pretty sure, that even if I had more IEMs/headphones, I would be too lazy to use them all, would always use the most “universal” one.

Please don’t understand it wrong, but I have a simple question - why this much of IEMs? How do you use them, change them depending on your mood, source material, DAP, DAC, headphone amp? I was always wondering, why people have ten or more IEMs/headphones etc. I can partly understand, yes, this is an hobbly like everything else, so you collect stuff, but for me it differs for example from collecting watches, because you can have some for different things (official, normal day, sports, bling bling etc.).

I do have one pair of IEMs and a second one as a spare one (much cheaper), if the main one fails and I need to send it back on warrant or somthing. I also do have one pair of headphones, that cover all my needs. The same applies to my DAC/DAP etc.

Just wondering how, when and what for do you use them.

  • It’s a little strange to blame the earbuds not to fit both your ears. I’ve had the same issue with Galaxy Buds Pro 2, they were fine, but on one side I didn’t get a proper fit. But this doesn’t apply to this model, this happens with all of them, your ears aren’t identical, my left earcanal is not as wide as right one. You could try some tips to equal it out.

I know that feeling, still searching for some good wireless headphones because of that comfort issue. Until now I tested Anker Soundcore Life 35, Bose QC 45 and Sennheiser Accentum. With all of them after hour or two I felt that pain on the top of the head and returned them. I gave up honestly, the only headphone I’m using every day for several hours without hots spots on the top of the head are my wired DT1990 Pro. The shape of the band matches my head shape exactly, so there are no spots with more or less pressure. But your mileage may of course vary depending on your individual head size and shape. The only way I think is just try different models out on Amazon etc., maybe you’ll find something in the end, wish you luck!

If you are thinking about a DAP, but don’t know, if it’s worth it and aren’t sure you need it, then you don’t need it. And after that if you still think about a DAP, then don’t go for something expensive, because it’s not worth it. Buy a phone (older LG with Quad DAC) and a SD card, or a USB dongle for your phone. If this is not enough, buy something like Shanlings M1S or so under 200/300 USD, that’s more than enough. I’ve bought an Hiby R5 Gen II and it’s fine, but could spend that money elswhere:)
