Serious answer …. Old speakers with meh low end, decent low mids, and rolled off high end. Old AR2ax come to mind.

I’d argue build quality in a lot of cases - but that’s majorly diminishing returns after a certain point. Once you hit that level of quality though it’s hair splitting to be sure

This. Equilateral triangle with the three points being the speakers and the listener’s head. Of course this isn’t gospel, but more often than not it’s a great start.
