What is the best bookshelf kit? I am looking to make a LCR set of bookshelf speakers for my bedroom. Would like to stay around $150 or less each. They will be paired with a subwoofer for a 3.1 system.

I have plenty of DIY build experience. My last build was a pair of Full Martys using full MDF sheets so not afraid of the work.

    I think lot of people will argue the C-note is the value kit in this price range. It’s a great little speaker but for a bedroom this thing should be a contender. I would argue that it has a clearer sound at lower volumes you might use at night

    Best for what?

    Music, TV or Gaming or do you want it detailed or round.

    Also, are you aiming at compact 4" or large 8" bookshelves…

    For 300 USD you can do a lot.
