Both the 560s and the 599 are listed for the same price on Sennheiser’s website. Sennheiser say that the 599 are the best headphone in the 500 series but I’ve heard that the 560s sound better. Please could you help me decided which headphone to buy as they are the same price. I’ll probably be powering them out of my dell inspiron laptop and I don’t listen to music particularly loud. Thanks so much :)

I had them both and while it’ll always be a subjective thing, I can’t think of any advantages in favor of the HD599. I liked everything better on the HD560S.

I bought the 599 like 1.5 years ago. The 599 is on sale several times a year. Atleast here in Sweden. Something to consider. I wanted them also because I read they were a bit warmer. They have a little bump in the bass for an open back. I mostly use them for gaming honestly though with the Series X and using the Dolby atmos app.

In my experience so far they sound natural, pretty crisp and full. I switch between them and hyper xcloud alpha. I like both of them in different ways. More oumph and closed off with the Alpha and more crisp and detailed, less hot on the ears and I can hear if someone knocks on the door or whatnot. I like this combo.

HD560s is the more competent headphone. Maybe not great if you prefer a lot of bass but otherwise it’s hard to beat

This submission has automatically been removed due to the following rule:

Rule 2: Ask purchase and shopping questions in the Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk

Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk instead of a new post.

Portable audio related purchase advice may also be asked in r/HeadphoneAdvice but please familiarize yourself with their rules first.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

    • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

    • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

    • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. “should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?”).

Why does this rule even exist?
