Many of you have probably seen the documentary about Ken Fritz and his million dollar stereo. Turns out the rooms contents are being auctioned off right now.

Enjoy listening to the music you love while you can… because you can’t take it with you!

It seems the auction site is not astute enough to provide enough pictures of each item to drive bids. The tube amps do not even have the cages off to show them off.

If I’m paying more than 10k for a setup I’m expecting the band to come in and start playing for me. Dude posted his 250k speakers the other day and at that price he might as well get kissed by the drummer

Completely ridiculous they are using Ebid. The $200k speakers haven’t gone up much since I saw them weeks ago. $1500.

This absolutely should have gone to an established auction house, I wonder if none of them would take the listing since it’s likely far outside their wheelhouse.

I see the mighty Oppo UDP-205 being auctioned as well. Will be interesting to see the final price on this.

Yep…our lifelong journey in hoarding and obsessing about mancrap is just more shit to quickly get rid of for the widow and family. At least he enjoyed it. I hope he had a lot of fun and maybe some holidays and family time with the money left over.

Well, I wonder which song they’re gonna play when we go. I hope it’s something quiet and minor and peaceful and slow. When we float out into the ether, into the Everlasting Arms, I hope we don’t hear Marley’s chains we forged in life.

Did you hear the fifty-nine Sound coming through on grandmother’s radio? Did you hear the rattling chains in the hospital walls? Did you hear the old gospel choir when they came to carry you over? Did you hear your favorite song one last time?

Yep, life truly is finite, and one man’s life long passion usually dies with him.

Would have been really interesting to get in there and listen to the system before it was (essentially) destroyed, what with it being extremely bespoke for that space.

I hope that absolute unit of a cat is included. No doubt the acoustics wouldn’t be the same without it.

Like those rugs and the room and everything else, the cat probably IS an integral part of the system.

      You suppose it’s got a rhodium-plated butthole?

It might not be worth anything higher than 20k. I don’t believe its the worlds best system, its some diy array doesn’t seem to be special at all.
