I guess I never paid attention to it before but I measured out my ears and my left one is definitely a protruding ear. I just recently brought an SHP 9600 hoping the huge ear cup size would be the comfort I was seeking all this time but not even it can help me. My left ear is constantly irritated and touch the wall of the ear cup. Does anyone else have this issue? This is is probably a silly and idiotic idea but I was thinking of taping the edges of my ear down when I want to use headphones so I can fit it inside the ear cup. Is this a bad idea? I’m really desperate at this point but I have no more money to spend after buying the headphones and I doubt there is a headset that will help me at this point.

I have the same issue but with my right ear! I wouldn’t say it’s painful (some headphones are but the vast majority are not), but as somebody with seborrheic dermatitis my ears do get quite itchy over time if I wear headphones that press on it for extended periods. I was also thinking of perhaps taping my ears down, but it would also be pretty uncomfortable where it’s kinda a lose-lose situation either way. I just try to ignore it

Same for me with my left ear. I have big ears and have to have the earlobes pinched at the bottom but that’s ok. The burning feeling always comes to the top of my left ear. Not always though. Some days it feels just fine for a long gaming session. Using hyper xcloud alpha by the way.

I can get a relief by pushing the headphones backwards a little bit and/or adjusting the headband and angle it forward or back on top of the head you know. Angle the earcups a bit.

Ever tried buying like wicked cushions big earcups? They’re really deep and wide.

Sort of on topic,I remember my sister when she was young used headband every night thinking that it would grow her eyes inwards so they didn’t stick out so far. Why not try a headband but obviously not one to tight. I also have sticky out ears, not as much as others but my left ear is higher so I do have to get the opticians to give me extra time fitting my glasses. I actually can’t wear the ear bud earphones as my ear canals are to small. But yer try a head band. Or as you said stick your ear down with perhaps duck tape. BUT you will be pulling the ear canal more open so need to pay extra attention to make sure the ears are equal as the sound won’t sound the same
