I’ve been thinking of getting my first proper IEM (split between the Salnotes Zero, QKZ x HBB, Tangzu Wan’er, and CCA CRA+), and I wanted to know if it’s better to have IEMs solely for at-home use or if they’re durable enough for frequent outdoor use like going to school with them or going on a longer walk. Any response from someone who knows more about IEMs than me (aka anybody) would be appreciated!!
use my blessing 2s at the gym, in the rain and I’ve spilled my drinks on them multiple times and after a day or two in desiccant they always work the same. iems usually are pretty durable.
Yeah. I take my Zero Reds out with me all the time.
Using the Wan’ers for daily 2 hours commute for the past 3 weeks… No issues so far… Just for your reference…
It’s “safe” as in being outdoors isn’t going to harm them, it’s potentially “unsafe” if you can’t hear what’s going on around you (traffic etc)
I wouldn’t use them in very physically active scenarios (like the gym, or running) I prefer more standard bluetooth for convenience (wireless), and my Blons are definitely too fragile and separate from the cords too easily to leave the house too much. But more “sturdy” IEM’s I do use at work, or if I’m listening to music while grocery shopping alone, etc. My preference is not to use noise-cancelling headphones of any form factor if I’m walking or cycling in traffic etc though for safety reasons.
