I’ve been using ANC types (AirPods Pro and XM3) for years and I thought they were really good. Spent a week on reviews and decided the weight and comfort is really important to me, I get neck aches from desk work so the lightweight design sold me. And Dan Clark seems like a good guy running a legit small business, in his videos.

I love how I can hear the subtle details in vocals I couldn’t before. Like saliva, throat and breath sounds. Feels more real and human. Let’s see if I still get goosebumps after this honeymoon period.

Is FiiO K7 good enough for it? I have to turn the amp vol to 80 for it to sound satisfying. Is this usual or a sign of a weak amp?

I don’t know these headphones by side-profile, what are they?

Do you have the K7 on high gain? It’s not a weak amp, though the Dan Clark stuff is generally hard to drive.

Haha I thought so too until I saw the headband and was like nah. They’re the Dan Clark Ether 2 apparently and they look very sexy from the pictures I’ve seen online.

New dac and amp would for sure be an upgrade.

I know they are easy to drive but they are so detailed that amp and dac upgrade is worth it.

Mojo 2 is amazing dac amp.

Yeah, hifi headphones are awesome. I have never had these, but figured I’d try some. Instantly hooked on the clear sound and I wanted to buy some. Bought 2 sets, openbacks and closed backs for a reasonable price, because I also want to start making music and mixing it.

To be fair the flat frequency response of studio headphones and hifi headphones is good, you can just drop any eq over it and they will sound anazing for listening to music. You can get really good hifi and studio headphones for a cheap price, compared to things like airpods or in ears they sound night and day, almost like speaker compared to phone speakers.

Skipping iphone 14 and 15 for headphones is honestly a good choice. They don’t even have a headphone jack and cheap hifi headphones often only have 3.5mm aux out… Lol

I may just have to depend on my iPhone 13 to not die so I can skip a few more iPhones to get more audio gear.

I have test Android phones for work but I’d never use them personally due to their inferior security.

Tbh I don’t care enough for security. I’d rather have a new feature than good security. Also it hasn’t failed me yet, the security
