I have a Soundblaster G6 and recently got a pair of HD800s (Moved from HD600) and am trying to understand if I use an adapter(I’ve found one on Amazon made by VCE) to turn the 6.35mm into a 3.5mm plug, if this adapter will cause a loss in sound quality?

I’m going to look at a proper DAC/AMP combination for the future(which will naturally support the 6.35mm and 4.4mm cables) but in the interim my G6 will have to do as it’s suited my use case for the last few years.

If there are any suggestions for decent adapters if they do influence sound quality that would be great. Thanks in advance.

A short version of a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter literally ripped off the tip of the 3.5mm plug on one of my headphone cables when I tried to remove it from the adapter. This was due to a manufacturing defect and due to the very limited space inside the short version of the adapter. I use this longer version of a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter since they are much better constructed:

I perceive zero difference in audio quality when using the above adapters, and I have zero issues when plugging a 3.5mm cable into these adapters or plugging these adapters into a 6.35mm socket.
