I have a blown woofer in my BW DM630 speakers. Cost to replace the blown part is $325.

I’m seeing some really nice used speakers on FB marketplace in the $500 range…

How do you decide whether to repair your equipment or just buy something else that’s much newer?

For me, I’m not in love with these speakers. I recently heard Klipsch Fortes and was in love. Am I better off just saving up or selling a bunch of other equipment to get something I’m more excited about?

The question is what is the pair worth to sell if you spend $325 to fix the one, vs. throw them out?

If the street value is $326 or more fix and sell them and use the $1 towards better speakers.

It’s rarely worth replacing with new parts on old speakers. See if you can find a 2nd hand driver on eBay and replace it yourself.

I don’t think the 6xx were all that. Sell and get something else. JBL, Dali, mordant short, Wilson bench, pmc.

Wow, I just paid $220 for a pretty high end woofer straight from Dynaudio.

That is a lot for a old middling B&W driver.

    They’re $200 - $400 speakers here, I’m not sure I’d bother.
