Quick question on where i should solder ! The outer pin with the hole is for earth, and the 2 inner bits seperated by black plastic are for left and right channel right? Just dont want to mess it up and ruin something ! Thanks (:

    I assume this is a new jack you are installing? (there’s no solder on it and the crimps look new)

    Did you just cut off the old one or did you open it somehow?

    I actually wanted to shorten one of my cables but I’m not sure how to open the old jack and screwing it open doesn’t seem to work.

    If you just cut the end off, how did you ID which wire is which?
